Beautiful One Day & Perfect the Next… Being in the tropical north we enjoy year-round warm weather, and the Whitsundays is your perfect destinations year-round.

Spring – Always a great time to visit the Whitsunday during September & October. Average temperatures for sunny spring days where we expect maximum temperatures of 26 degrees Celsius with little rain and low humidity. The evenings can be a little cooler so perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sunsets. Don’t forget to look for the whales at this time of year.

Winter – Perfect for your holiday away from the colder climates with average temperature between 17 – 25 degrees.

Autumn – As we come into winter and the temperatures start to cool down with lower humidity after our more humid summers. Time for the locals to bring out their jackets and turn the air conditioner off and enjoy the breezes.

Summer – Temperatures range between 24 – 32 degrees, but this is the time of our highest rainfalls. But it is warm rain and if you prepare for the season there is no reason to not enjoy your holiday. You can still swim, even in the rain and your choice of apartment will be air conditioned for your evening comfort. This is our “Wet Season”.
Now that is a difficult question and remember once you arrive you may not want to leave… We are lucky enough to live in the beautiful Whitsundays. The Whitsundays is made up of 74 Islands along the Coral Sea.

We recommend 5 – 7 days as a time frame to give you time to explore the Islands and the region. Most people want to visit the iconic Whitehaven Beach. Airlie Beach is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. You will need a full day to see the Great Barrier Reef (outer reef). There are day trips to Hamilton Island and Daydream Island Resorts, and you can spend the day exploring those. Local day tours include, hire a jet ski, hire a boat, fishing tours, Yacht charters, Crocodile Safari tour, local tuk tuk tours, helicopter or seaplane tours over the great barrier reef and heart reef, snorkelling and island tours – just to name a few. Spend the time with the little ones at the local parks and playgrounds along the foreshore and the Airlie Beach Lagoon.

A trip out to the local Cedar Creek falls is worth the time (you may need a car) or a day trip to Dingo Beach & Cape Gloucester or up to Eungella and Broken river and Finch Hatton Gorge. There are so many islands and land-based tours as well as spending time at the local lagoon or sitting by a pool relaxing with a quiet cocktail or two. Saturday morning is Market morning on the local foreshore. Highlighting local produce and bespoke items made locally, if you miss the Saturday markets in Airlie Beach, you can head over to Bowen on a Sunday to visit their markets.

Once the sun starts to set there are several options for sunset cruises or loads of options for dining. From fish and chips, pizzas to fine dining, the choice is yours.
